I am a Melbourne author drawn to the people who link Australia and China.

My first book, The Geelong Doctor, tells the story of George Ernest Morrison, a Geelong-born surgeon who walked across southwest China in 1894 and went on to become The Times of London’s correspondent in Beijing and a confidant of China’s first president, Yuan Shikai.

I also write a bilingual blog (English/中文) on Australian life, Chinese languages, and the spaces between.
